The Australasian Transplant Coordinators Inc Privacy Policy

The Australasian Transplant Coordinators Association (ATCA) complies with the new national privacy legislation, The Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001, effective 21st December, 2001.

At the time of initial application or renewal of membership to ATCA, members provide personal information, including:
First Name, Last Name, Job Title, Company, Contact Address, Phone (W), (M), Fax and Email Address.
This information is then transferred onto the membership database.

The disclosure of this information is only for purposes directly related to:

  • Providing information about education, training and professional development
  • Organ Donation, Transplantation and Nursing research
  • The supply of services or products endorsed by, or associated with, ATCA
The disclosure of members’ personal information will be Name, Contact Address and Email Address. This will be at the discretion of the Executive committee as deemed appropriate.

In all circumstances ATCA will apply all reasonable efforts and precautions to ensure that the receiver of the information utilises all personal information in accordance with the current privacy legislation and only for the purpose for which it is intended.

All current information, provided to ATCA prior to The Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001 being implemented, will be treated as per these current amendments. All future requests for the member to provide personal details will be accompanied by a request for the approval of disclosure to third parties as deemed appropriate by the ATCA Executive.

Members of ATCA may contact the ATCA Vice President with regards to any privacy concerns or complaints about the breach of privacy, or should they seek current information being held about themselves by ATCA.
